A Cotton Rat to be more specific. Unlike the black rats and Norway rats that prowl through our trash, these cute little guys are native to North America. Found him one morning along the LaChua Trail in Gainesville Florida. After all the rain that came down, the trail looks alive again. It took some time for me to get close, but once I got to a comfortable distance for him I was able to lay down and get some shots. This was my favorite of the sequence.
Thanks for the replies. It was the first time shooting a rat, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. They are just like every other wildlife subject ... well, I guess you could never start a thread with RIF (rat in flight). Thanks for looking!
