I did climb the highest dutch mountain and with risk to my own life and safety did bring some edelweiss
back down to my beloved green valley I call home to share them with you ......... ........
Thanks for looking. Questions are always welcome.
A good set, Chris. First time seeing edelweiss for me also. Subtle but lovely flowers.
Is the rumor true that the highest mountain in Holland is actually above sea level?
Charlie
Let me add to my friendly teasing: I've been to Netherlands several times, and loved it.
And I loved the people (one in particular- but that's another story ).
The fact that some of the country was reclaimed from the sea is the greatest tribute to the Dutch people. They literally created a country where none existed before. That shouts of hard work and sterling character.
Very nice set, Chris. These pics are bringing back some memories. In Italy and in most of the alpine countries this is a protected flower. I remember when I was little (many, many years ago)it was also a well known brand name of cigarettes
Thanks for sharing these. I like 2 and 7 best.

Ah, "The Sound of Music" in photos...very pretty.

Thanks Eric.
I completely forgotten the sound of music. So I asked my dear lady if there was a song called edelweiss in it.
Unfortunately she started to sing it.

I have never seen this, always wondered about it because of the song, but have never seen it before now. Thank you for your efforts.

You are welcome, Douglas. Ok, I didn't climb a mountain but it took me some effort to get those BG colors.
Glad you like them.

Very nicely done Chris, I'm touched that you risked life and limb to bring back these images for us
4 and 7 are my pics of the set.
Tim
Thank you Tim.
In #4 there was heavy rain against the window. I went down to the kitchen to get something to wipe
it off after the rain. But then I thought it might give me a nice effect and gave it a shot.

Charlie, the highest dutch mountain is above sea level. That's why we call it mountain.
Thanks for the compliment to the Dutch people. Impressive projects have been realized in the past regarding making the coast
saver and claiming land from the sea. If you say you love one Dutch person It must be Tessie...... right?
