I took these yesterday in the scorching mid-morning sun at the Oceanside Marine Nature Study Area on Long Island, New York. For this set I chose not to zoom wider as I wanted to capture the osprey�s face as it flew over. In the first photo it passed between me and the sun, then turned and landed. As I reviewed the photos I discovered I captured the moment it grabbed the branch to land.

It was worth going in close on #1 to see the osprey size you up and let you know you weren't welcome. Great focus on the face in that one.
