I found some more aphid farming ants today. It's fascinating watching the ants scurrying around over the aphids, stroking their abdomens and sucking up the secreted honeydew:

Thanks. It was even creepier taking the picture, with blades of grass brushing over my knuckles in the breeze!

Thanks Birdie. I was aware of this behaviour, and have seen it in nature programmes on TV, but only witnessed it myself for the first time the other week.
