I had more fun getting close yesterday at Oceanside. If you have not figured it out this is a great egret. It was a very hot day here in New York City, even the birds were panting and/or lethargic. When I left the Nature Study Area at 1:00 PM, it was 98f and quite humid. The only relief was a nice breeze which helped to keep the bugs down though one horse fly had me for lunch in small installments.
Aye, aye, aye...the eyes certainly have it in this set. I'm not sure I would have thought to compose them this way as I try to get everything in focus and when its not its my error...you on the other hand have a way with these that make it obvious as to your intent and it comes across mighty well.

I reckon the people at Pixar could get some serious inspiration for future cartoon critters from these shots Morris, very interesting! It can't have been easy to get the focus exactly on the eyes like this either.
