Nice one Greg !! How are you enjoying the new camera ?
Birdie
Thanks Birdie. It's not quite the focus I was looking for, but that's one of the nuances of the XP1. Other than that, I love it and can't wait for the new lenses to roll out. It's really a piece of art itself, and quite capable of producing stunning images, but there's a major learning curve. Luckily, I learned most of the basics on my Nikon, so now I just need to learn about what this camera can and can't do. If this doesn't works out, I'll probably step into the light and buy a Canon.....there, I said it!
I like it Greg. The flowers seem to almost glow against the dark bg.
Have you found the parallax a problem when using a viewfinder, or can you use the screen?

Thanks Ron. Using the optical viewfinder is a little tricky because you see the lens in the finder. This has been one of the things that has been most difficult for me coming from a pentaprism and mirror viewfinder, so yeah, parallax is an issue, even though there is an overlay screen showing parallax correction. I opted to use the electronic viewfinder for this shot as it allows magnification fine focusing.....but...the Fuji lenses suck at manual focus. I'm going to order an adapter for the two Nikon lenses I didn't sell. And see if that works better, if not....I will say, the XP1 does an excellent job of candid captures, and street type photography, but the rest remains to be seen. BTW, yes, your can use the the LCD screen....
Beautiful image Greg! Looks like Fuji has a winner there.
One question, does the XP1 have a socket for a wired remote switch?
Had a Yashika Electro 35 back in 1971, my days with Kodachrome, it was my 1st 35mm camera, rangefinder's are fun to use; there was lots of experimentation back then, learned a ton about composition and exposure.

Looking forward to more of your images
Thanks Jerry. It is certainly a fun camera and that's the main reason I made the change, not to mention smaller. The XP1 has a threaded socket style shutter release for an old school cable, which I am ordering tonight! It also has a pc socket for flash syncing.....which I will never use, but hey, it's nice to know its there...
This is a beautiful, well arranged and captured image.
As far as the "focus" of this post, I did a little basic sharpening, and it made a noticeable improvement.
