I spent the first 2 weeks of June lugging my gear around Ecuador scouting out the various lodges for Hummingbird photography and next year's workshop. My main goal was to photograph different species of these fast moving birds. I used my D4 with my trusty 500mm f/4, but anything over 200mm would of worked great. I'm still working up my images (hundreds to go), so it's a slow trickle. I'm still amazed at the quality of the 500mm, as it's my go to lens for Bald Eagles and now Hummingbirds.
