I went out yesterday for a drive with my wife because the weather forecast was dismal. But I still brough my camera(s).
On the Bow Valley Parkway, I first came across a mom and 2 grizzly cubs crossing the road just west of Morant's curve, but they were too quick and only offered bumb shots.
Then between castle junction and the highway entrance near Banff I came across 3 baby bears and a mom (tagged number 64).
The baby bears were delightlful and they play fought and chased each other around for about 1/2 an hour. It was special.
Here are my (too many - my apologies) best shots from about 2000 other shots.
Jim Bau: Better than enjoyable - it was fantastic - its rare to get them to pose so long. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Ted ellis: It was a fun event. Glad you like them. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
eyelaser: Normally when Laurel comes along, she won't let me out of the car but these were so close I did not need to get out. And I did not even have to put the honey on to attract them. A great day with lots of points for care and attention to my beloved combined with a wonderful sight. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.
[P.S. I am debating cloning out the ear tags in 4 and 5. These might make it into my yearly calendar. Any thoughts?]
Good to know 64 is taking full advantage of the highway wildlife passes. She was hanging around Vermillion a few weeks ago. Fantastic set. #9 is precious.
surfnron: They were so cute you could take them home Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Tim Kuhn: It was a lucky day for posing. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
time2clmb: She is moving around. I think this is the same bear that was at Sunshine entrance last week too? Hopefully she stays away from the train. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
