Hello everyone!

Been following the forum for a while now and finally got a chance to participate with my first wedding shoot

We, my husband and I shot this wedding in April.

its a very nice set. Love 16. The only thing i'd try different maybe apply BW to image 23.

Some of these remind me of Cliff Mautner's photos. Very nice work.

Lovely set, great for a first wedding.

My only nitpick: Although I understand that one of the current trends is to have blown highlights, what this has done is lost all the detail in the wedding dress in several of the photographs.

@ photoman333 - Thank you Jason. Wasnt aware of such a trend. It is actually a weakness. I always end up messing details in highlights. My husband often points it to me. Will try fixing these.

This is indeed my first. My husband shot a friend's wedding once but thats pretty much it. We have both been shooting for years though, just never weddings.

Both my husband and I have been shooting for a few years now. I think my background in journalism helps bring different perspectives to my portraits. We were fortunate to have gotten a chance to shoot a wedding finally.
Most people would enquire but were not willing to take a chance knowing we had never shot a wedding before. This couple on the other hand, showed a lot of confidence from the very beginning. It was a humble start, so to speak, but well worth it.

These so good that it's hard to believe it's your first wedding. Nice use of the piano and window in #7, although I'm not a fan of blown highlights. I also like the setup in # 20 with the park bench. Very creative for a first timer.

nice first start!

A litttttle too contrasty in the processing for my tastes.

Pursue moments a little bit more. I'm more moved in your set by what you didn't arrange than what you did. I think you have an eye for it that could be developed.

When posing.. .think of arranging people in the same way that you could imagine yourself hanging out with you husband. These look a little posey posey.

The contrast bit is a personal style, you'll see it in the following sessions

I think because weddings are usually formal affairs, its easy to get caught into poses but, I'll try doing something else with the couple next time.
