p.1 #1 · Need Quick Plate suggestions to use with BlackStrap
I just bought the PhotoClam PC-69-UP3 mounting plate for my 70-200 L and was hoping to use the Fasten RT1 for my strap, however the RT1 is too wide to screw into the plate since the location for the RT1 to screw in is on the end of the plate and the RT1 is wider than the original screw.
Does anyone use a "universal" lens mounting plate and a blackrapid strap? I was hoping to use a mounting plate that is flush so it can sit on a table. Unlike a typical tripod mounting plate that is not flush.

BTW - I'm not being defensive about my setup. I found it very clumsy that the strap stays on the body while it is on the tripod. It also doesn't account for an L-plate. I think the protrusion of the mounting point for the strap under the lens seems...wrong and in the way. Top it off with being expensive, and I'm just not a fan.
My setup (which wasn't invented by me - I just pushed several ideas together and thought a bit about where the safety strap should go) is super fast, easy, flexible (works with my 80-200 RRS foot plate or another body if I had one) and is less expensive.
