I gave up on reading it after a while. The profanity is a substitute for writing quality.
Could have done his readers a greater service by skipping the F-bombs and
giving more detail on the situations where Canon E-TTL let him down, for example.
I can totally understand why someone would make the switch; but he didn't make
his experience a worthwhile read for me.

He's noted for his use of profanity and he makes no apologies for it.
He wrote one of the most downloaded articles in web history about street photography. It was similarly laced with profanity. It's how he communicates.

Chris who
The 1D X flash and wireless also let him down. And why? Because a friend told him that TTL-flash was still questionable And he heard that the wireless capability of the 1D X was almost unusable
I also couldn't quite finish reading his blog.... Oh, well, I guess I am not alone in that respect .
Tom, what is your intention of posting his blog here? So, you wanted us to know that that Chris guy switched just as a general knowledge? Did you admire his work then? I know his writing is.... well, I am not going there. I have never heard of this guy before but that doesn't mean much, if anything.
Was he writing about the D1x or the 1D X when he was talking about three of them failing on him in two days? Or did Nikon make a 1Dx at some point (I thought Nikon was always D1, never 1D?).

Profanity used that liberally is an excuse for poor communication skills, let alone writing.
Is shock value the new standard for camera review.
I too have no problem with profanity either, but I do have a problem with bad writing. It's not the profanity that makes his writing bad. It's his entire thought process or lack thereof. One of the best writers on the scene today, Matt Taiibi, has profanity laced throughout everything he writes, but it underscores and emphasizes the points he is trying to make and never seems out of place. Taiibi's profanity expresses the frustration than he feels while Weeks is just weak.
I read it all the way through, and to me his post sounds like another photographer self affirmation post about the personal reasons he chose to switch systems. Good for him. He doesn't sound or provide a reason any different for changing systems than the wankers he refers to. Whenever anyone, be it a photographer or plumber, feels the need to publicly list why they are changing tools unrequested, you can bet your bottom dollar they have an axe to grind.
