With respectful distance from Ted's great post about his daughter's graduation from UNC Chapel Hill, I wanted to post a few from my daughter's graduation last week from University of Puget Sound. I'll spare those of you with a sensitive gag reflex the list of her impressive accomplishments and say only that we are very proud of the distance she has traveled in her four years as a scholar-athlete. Thanks in advance for this indulgence. The closest the photos come to being sports related is that the ceremony took place in the stadium where many of the soccer matches were played.

Congratulations Russ. That's a huge and monumental step for your daughter.
Just like in photography, I'm way, way behind you, with only Grade 5 and 8 graduations to celebrate this year. It's hard for me to imagine University graduations but I'll bet this snuck up on you much quicker than expected.

Many thanks, Frank. Her degree is in Biology/Neuroscience (or something along those lines) and she landed a great job (full-time, full benefits, etc.) as a lab technician at the University of Washington, working with an M.D./Ph.D. doing hind-brain research--all as a precursor to eventual grad school.

Harty congratulations to your daughter and her very proud parents. I can only imagine the mixed bag of emotions as they keep getting older. Next year my oldest finishes HS and in am not looking forward to the milestone and her moving onto the next stage of her life.
