How do you use polarizer on your Leica and Zeiss lenses compared to other brands, like Nikon or Canon?

Exactly the same, turn it clockwise to thread it onto the lens, counterclockwise to remove

When it's needed. I don't generally use one on my current Zeiss lenses because they're perhaps even too contrasty from the T* coatings. I used to them more frequently on Canikon lenses.

I don't use polarizers anymore. I found out they add a greenish tinge (some brands more obviously than others but they all do to varying degrees) and they soften the image. Also I realized that great scenes will look great with or without them, while mediocre scenes can be slightly enhanced, but they will remain mediocre nonetheless.

I use them but mostly for water and wet surface reflexes where they can make a major difference.

I have seen the greenish tinge that Edward mentioned too (in blue skies so I don't use polarizers for that anymore). I do use them sometimes to take reflections off foliage because that simply cannot be done in PP.

I don't really see what Zeiss/Leica lenses have to do with it though.

1. After observing my own habits and photographs of other people I suspect that some people use polarizers to compensate for lens color
2. I believe the drawing style of Zeiss and Leica is fragile and can be suppressed by polarizers

I have them, but I can't remember the last time I used one. When I do, it's to cut down on reflections.

I think I have forced to use it for my landscapes. I realize that for that type of photography the image of clouds above is as important as the land's scenes, and polarizer does the good job here, I tried my polarized sunglasses to look at clouds it gave much better contrast and detail than bare eyes.So I think I have to sacrifice a little IQ here for better looking sky.

I use them for landscapes and foliage images all the time. Sure they might degrade the image ever so slightly, but the glare they remove and the saturation they improve far outway the slight loss of image sharpness. For sure you can tell if a polarizer was not used on an image exhibiting glare off the foliage...but I bet you could not tell me for sure which image had a polarizer just by it's sharpness.

"Polarizing filters, do they reduce image quality?"

Minor optical issues such as colour cast or possibly resolution are potentially blown out of the water with major effcts on the image due to the reduction or control of light or reflections.

To answer the OP's question, yes, I use them with any lens.

I only use a CP on the Leica R 280/4 AT and the Nikon 200/2 G VII as it is still part of the optical formula when removing the ND filter.

Don't you mean "overblown"? I have noticed a green kind of posterization (ugly patches) in blue skies shot with a polarizer; something which is hard to repair. You're right that the polarizer's effect is much greater in comparison though. In some cases it does seem to override the Zeiss drawing style (I don't have Leica lenses but I suppose it's the same there).

I try not to use them at all if possible. I live at high altitude and often get skies too dark, color cast, etc. There are a few situations where they are helpful, but generally I avoid CPLs.

I use them on all brands of lenses about equally, which is rarely. I most often use CPL to control reflected light from water and windows in buildings. I sometimes use them for scenics with lots of sky & clouds, but certainly not all of the time.

The last time I used one of these suckers is about 10 years ago.

Wish I could have used one last night.

I even had a B+W MRC on me but the venue was extremely dark and I could barely see a thing through the EVF. A polarizer would have improved that shot greatly but it was just practically impossible to use because of EVF + Stopped down lens with no AE control. An optical viewfinder would have been even worse.

Polarizers are a fantastic tool for things like moisture on foliage, to literally be able to see what's underneath the dew. The capability they add to certain applicable shooting situations is independent of the brand of lens used. If it is useful to improving the scene, then what brand of lens you're shooting with it is irrelevant.

Hmmm, I've heard of enhancing the color (by reducing the flare) of greenery (foliage), increasing cloud contrast, and removing reflections from all kinds of stuff from store windows to pond surfaces. But I've never heard of them softening an image much nor affecting the drawing style of any lenses.

I never use them for foliage beyond a few tests but I use them lots for reflection removal. They work great for that making possible otherwise impossible shots. I also sometimes use them as ND filters.

I'll add another plus to that!

Fresh wild Alaskan King salmon tastes better than farmed Atlantic. But you are not going to appreciate the difference if you make meatballs of them and dip them in very strong barbecue sauce.

Polarizers remove some of the natural properties of a scene (foliage glare, for example). The effect can be dramatic enough to overpower the natural clarity that I associate with some lenses.
