What a wonderful set Birdie For my taste I would like to see the reflection cropped out in 2 and if that is too drastic maybe add more room above the bird and tighten the bottom so the image is less symmetric. 3 is stunningly elegant and 4 is close to 3
Whistler is lovely Birdie. Nice BG, nice coloring on the beak and great detail at the face. Nice shot in this light for sure!
I usually agree with Tim on less reflection but I do like the vertical pull here in both directions and the nice contrast and color at the beak catch my eye. Perhaps just a little darkening of the lower half would work well giving more force upward yet still appreciating the full reflection?
#3 nice
#4 reminds me of a tree at Pickerel Creed along Lake Erie Whites could be brought down a wee bit more maybe, has a little look of magenta to it on the tree?

The 500 pulled some sharp detail in #1 Birdie... I'm so happy for you and your new glass, and so jealous that I don't have one yet.
You have a great eye for composition, and I really like all of these including #2. I'm usually not too keen on full reflections but this one works for me.
I love #4... the sharp detail of the tree and Egret against that creamy BG creates a wonderful separation and really cool 3D look.
Very well done Birdie, I enjoyed each one.

Birdie-
Wonderful reflection, closeup and environmental context images of the egret.
And your ducky shot with its neck fully stretched had me giggling. It probably was trying to figure out whether your new 500mm was a camera lens or a bazooka .

I like #1 just because. #3 is very good but the BG is not as good as #4. That last one would be super except the whites look overblown in the bird. Don
Very nice set Birdie. Great capture of the goose with side lighting, that glassy eye looks gorgeous. I also like #4, sorry, but the tree is more captivating than the Egret, IMHO.
