Great photo of a somewhat hard to get resplendent bird. They don't sit still that long do they? Guess being that brightly colored requires them to be wary.
Where did you go to find this one? I had the good fortune to see one young male in the "light" rain forest cover. Only had 200mm f-4 with me though. Then we watched a Quetzal nest for almost 3 hours hoping the male would show up to bring food. But all we got to see there was the female's beak a few times as she looked out of the hole in the tree. This was about 2 hours south of San Jose and 45 minutes on dirt roads to get to the general area.
