I had intentions today to drive down Turnagain Arm south of Anchorage and climb up into the mountains. The Dall Sheep should start birthing any time and I'd love to get some shots of newborn lambs.
On my drive down the Seward Highway however I was interrupted from my original intentions as I happened upon this young grizzly bear grazing alongside the road. What a healthy young bear he was too. Still appears to have his winter coat with no real signs of shedding yet, and fantastic coloring. Greens are just appearing as it's still early spring in Alaska. Lucky Mother's Day for me!
Thanks Steve. Yeah, he kept track of me for sure. When he wasn't ripping up blades of grass he'd raise his head and check me out. Wary little guy, but what a beaut!
