I don't usually care for Coots but I sure do like the baby ones.
They look like strange little wind up toys flapping their tiny wings as they swim by.

My oh my- Tim, these images are delightful! I'd never have thunk baby coots would look like this.
But what the heck kind of camouflage is THAT? Apparently it works, because there continues to be adult coots every year.
Thanks for the unique experience of seeing these critters- it's sure a first for me.

Tim, these are wonderful. Love them all. Never dreamed this is what baby coots would look like. I would have mistaken them for moorhens with that orange beak. Really delightful shots
I love the first photo! Not only do you capture the cuteness of the rather disheveled baby, but even more interesting to me, you capture the feelings that the mother and baby appear to have for one another. I love the way they are looking at each other. All the shots are wonderful, but the first is my favorite because it tells a story.
