When I worked in Atlanta (SW), I would get off work around 11PM and drive home to Pendergrass, about 70 miles, on I-85n. On and off for years I would encounter paving, lane widening, and bridge construction…lots of bridge construction…
I’ve been retired for a year now… the construction has not. The Sugarloaf area looks like an amusement park ride…complete with the long lines…through Barrow Co. and into Jackson Co., made for an interesting commute, found some back roads, 124 from Braselton, (now under total redesign), to 332, my backdoor into Pendergrass, took much of the stress out of the drive.
Now it’s rare that I go past Chateau Elan. Most of my travel on the Interstate now is from my exit…two exits south to 53 and to Road Atlanta…a total of 15miles…I love it…
Interesting to see the construction from a different perspective…and I don’t have to participate…
Hey guys. Sorry to be so late in responding. I lost track of time. I really appreciate the kind words. If anyone in the Atlanta area is interested in getting some shots like this send me a PM and I will contact you if anything cool comes up!
