ok, let's say your editing style evolves and changes. i would think this means at minimum you re-edit the images on your main website to match. how about the blog? do you go back a certain number of posts and re-edit or just pick up where you left off and start posting images with the new style?

funny you bring that up... i used bibble 4 years ago. i'm re-doing some things as i write thing - WHAT A DIFFERENCE! so yes, i will be updating some old photos. and as i was telling a friend..it's almost like i JUST learned how to sharpen. so weird!

I would never re-edit anything to match an editing style. What a PITA that would be. Just change and move on. If you're getting a fair amount of work, the old stuff should get pushed to the back soon enough.

I agree, PITA. Use your older work to show how and why you've grown in whatever direction you've chosen, that's IF you need to use your older work, if any is of particular significance. No point clinging to old images, look forward to what you can create now.

see the thread about female's in this business. this is one reason i think... i am not so much matching my current editing style as much as i am IMPROVING the overall appearance of said images due to the advances that have been made in raw processing engines. what could not have been done with bibble - is now being done by LR4 - and the differences are astounding! my husband saw a few and even he was wow'd and he's BLIND!

thought i would add a few comparisons for examples. and fwiw...i never go back this far but am always looking to improve in any area - old, new, whatever.

I agree... some people seem to think that our style has changed. I don't see it... perhaps evolved over time, but I wouldn't say changed... I think if it was something drastic than perhaps an explanation during consultation.

That's really minor changes, and for the better. Just push on forward (or go back and reedit if you want your old work to look like it's edited better). It's a lot different if you were going 100% retro vintage feel with color actions and all that jazz. These are just improvements and evolutions along the way.

I wouldn't. In fact, if you go back about 4 months, most of my blog posts are imported posts from Blogger, which means the images aren't the right size, or they're thumbnails, and the text is all messy. I'm not too concerned with that. Most people I talk to in person say that they've only gone back and looked at my website (all updated to match my style) and about 2-3 weddings on my blog - which means that all they have seen is my current work.
