Hey, if you need APO the Coastal Optic 60mm f/4 is actually cheaper than this new APO-Summicron.
I'm guessing this new Summicron will be made in very small numbers and is mostly just for bragging rights. Current Leicas can't even be focused precisely enough(consistently) to use all that resolution!
You pay $7195 for a lens, and the lens caps aren't even included? I mean come on. That's just silly. You have the audacity to charge that much for a lens and then ding your customer $70 extra for a set of lens caps? Of course, I'm sure there was a great amount of Leica engineering that went into this in order to provide superior capping performance. Not only has Leica set a new benchmark in imaging, but a new benchmark in lens capping performance as well......
Booooring! Disappointing! Where is the M10? On May 10th?
Yet another gimmick from Leica. I can make my pictures black and white in Photoshop. I donīt care about this super sharp bladibla. Get me an M10 now, with modern processing and operational speed which will help my photography on the street, not in the pixel peeper machine. M8 and M9 are ancient, slow, crappy technology half a decade behind the relevant SLR competitors, even when they were released, and I can only assume this one is the same. You canīt have a "decisive moment" camera that doesnīt work instantly. So far the digital Ms have been gimmicks. Disappointing toys. This is yet another gimmick.

Just like how Canon don't include a lens hoods with their non L series lenses!

No, off course the lens caps are included, as is the hood.
Replacement caps will cost those prices. And compared to the other lenses those prices are quite standard. A hood for 125 is actually cheap in leica terms.
The hood for my 18mm SE costs 200, the one for my 28 cron 150.

Ok, replacement caps. But still, those are standard prices for caps? On Canon's website a set of replacement lens caps for a standard lens would cost about $15. (Or probably around $5 if you go with generic ones off ebay ).
I think this is where Leica is really making their profits. Charge $40 for a replacement cap that probably costs 4 cents to make, that's like a 99,9900% markup
