p.1 #1 · Easiest to use tent/lighting for occasional use?

One in a while I need to shoot camera or other gear I want to sell here or eBay, etc. and I am looking for a really easy to use tent/lighting set up that doesn't take up much room and can be stored easily with a minimum of fuss. The largest item I would probably need to shoot is a 70-200mm lens or a tripod. I'd like to keep the price to under $200.

I have a Nikon SB-900 flash but am not a lighting expert by any means and don't want a complicated or super powerful set up - just enough to do a nice job to post nice images on websites to sell photo gear if needed. Simple is best!

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Peter

Put a shooting table in the corner of the room so the walls will act like reflectors from the back and sides then just bounce your flash off the ceiling. That should create lighting that is low enough in contrast to allow your camera, exposing for the highlights, to also record detail in the shadows with natural looking downwards modeling on the objects with side accents off the walls from the back and sides.

To nuance what you get with that set-up make reflectors with white cardboard and also covered with aluminum foil, some shiny side out, other matte side placing them to the side just out of camera view. You can used black boards similarly to "subtract" the uniform lighting from the bounce to create more directional modeling on light objects by making one side darker.
