That second shot is awesome! If you could control the highlights on the tree on the left, and maybe clone one or two bits of grass in front of the egret (?), it would be world class!
Yes, it just distracts a bit, being out of focus and quite bright. If you are not into removal of things, it is still a great shot. I just think it could be better without.
Wow, fantastic shots. There's something about the look of the Nikon lens shots that I prefer, and the bokeh in the last one is just dreamy. Awesome action shots of the eagles, especially with manual focus!

Glad you liked it. I got about 5/6 shots, all in focus from his final approach. Most were too tight, so i should have taken the 350MM. He overshot final, from the base to final turn, and made a big S correction back to the right hand parallel runway. Maybe the tower changed runways on him / but it looked like a sloppy pattern to this retired pilot.

I intend on using my gun stock on the bold isle tour out of Cutter , Maine, to photograph puffins . Dont think ill be near any airports with it.
