It was all new to me...the lens, and camera body. Flat light, hand held...ISOs from 160-1600 - just playing around. What a fantastic lens - and the working distance is amazing.

Be careful, macro is addictive.

And, expensive...that 200 is not cheap.

Actually, I thought the used AI-S I got on ebay was reasonably priced - compared to the AF version. It is beautifully made, and in almost mint condition.

Cheap compared to 600mm, 2X TC, Wimberley head, series 5 tripod, etc, to shoot colorful little songbirds sitting on a stick. It's all relative. :-)
