Those are great places to go. I visit every Feb or March. I assume the gallinule was at Wakodahatchee where they are a bit more visible than Green Cay.
Nice captures! 1st and 2nd are my picks.

Thanks for commenting, Scott. And you are right, the purple gallinule shots were at Wako.

Great set Jim
I knew you'd like these places.Did you go to Cooper City
Thanks Dennis! And thanks for the tips on the area!
No, my family only had so much patience for my photog getaways. Wako and Green Cay were so close to my father-in-law's house - it was super convenient.

Excellent images, wish I can have a pic of the painted bunting too!
Thanks for commenting. The bunting was so unexpected! I was ready for the rookery action with herons and egrets, etc. And then there was the bunting, in the shade right near the parking lot - the very first bird I saw! What luck!
Marvelous shots Jim. I have photographed 1 purple galllinule...but didn't even know what I was shooting at at the time...never ever seen a sora or painted bunting...now I know what I'm missing ...super shots.

Beautiful colors, especially in the Purple Gallinule series. The light makes the third shot my favorite.
Congrats on the Sora. Nice captures with fine detail.
The setting in #7 enhances the beauty of the PB
Well done, Jim!
