When taking your new 5DIII out on the town, say Bone’s in Atlanta, which piece of L Glass should it be “dressed” in…should you leave the lens cap off to show off its optical prowess…and flash…should it only be worn with glass no more than say a 135 f/2L, or would you stay with a more formal white with red L ring ensemble and leave the hot shoe bare…?
After some thought, and checking the prices at Bone’s, I think I will keep my trusted and true (except for the outer focal points), 5Dc. I can dress it in a Canon 50 f/1.4, take it to McDonalds and bring something home for the flash from the $1 menu, and who knows…maybe some pictures of the clown.
Jefferson, I must have been a bad influence with my last joke post. Yeah, all of us need more of William Finley's prescription, but I feel your sartorial questioning deserves a more thoughtful answer.
Unfortunately, thoughtful is beyond my means. I say, trick out your 5DIII with an 8 mm fisheye and tell all those seafood lovers (and see-food lovers) that "she" is looking at them. And make fish lips at any likely, uh, candidates.
Or just go the safe route and connect your camera to an 800 L and 2x III. No one will notice the red ring, nor any that happens to be on your finger.
