It appears to offer seperate HDMI recording @ five times the cost of a D800. Now where do we buy a real still camera without video so all tose controls and menus can be used for stills?

This is a video camera for video professionals. Price is about par for the course for something like this.

is it really 2.5x as much work to take a 1DX and allow it to sample the middle of its sensor for video uncompressed? Add an hdmi port, some additional processing power,
