I searched around the web and on this forum and can't find anything difinitive. When will the Canon 500m f/4 mkII be released? I heard a while ago it was pushed back to April. It's now April. So what's the news?

So, I was waiting for this lens to come out because I was hoping that the 500 f/4 IS mkI used price would go down a little bit once the mkII is released. I don't know why this lens' release date keeps getting pushed back and I don't know why the mkI is getting so much more expensive! So, I'm trying to decide, should I buy a used mkI now? Or should I wait until the mkII is released? I mean when people buy the mkII and sell their mkI's that means there will be more on the used market and the price should go down, right? Or do people disagree with this? I really don't wanna pay 6500 for this lens but if it's not going to go down - I guess I;ll cough up the money. Some advice would be great!

I hope I am wrong, but I am guessing that the 500 f/4 version 1 price will continue to rise slightly and then stay the same for quite some time. This would be due to the great price disparity between the Mark I and II versions of the lens as well as an increased demand for version 1 lenses in the future, since it is way more affordable, with no more (new) supply from Canon.
Prices might go down (slightly) right after release of the new lens due to a flood in the used Market but it's enough of a niche lens that I doubt this will last long.
