My wife just surprised me with one as a "have a safe trip" present, as i've been mentioning how I have wanted to give one a go for awhile. so I guess I am just curious as to how often it is on your main body.
Daily, while I like the versatility of the 24-70L better. But the 35L is another class of EOSfun. It renders pictures like no other 35 EF lens, and 35 is my favorite standard FOV on full frame. It's opening speed of 1.4 and mastering DOF and bokeh is challenging and addictive like accelerating a Porsche 911 from a sharp corner on a wet street Again, and again, and again. 35L = Nordschleife photography.
yeah I got lucky with the wife. I am happy you guys enjoy it so much I have a wedding in mexico and have to keep my kit small like 2 lenses small and i'm excited to have the 35/85 combo over the 50/85 combo.
It is my go to lens for event, family or group photography. It is my most used lens. My most loved lens is the 85LII. Love and practicality rarely go together
every single time it misses a shot, pow, another shot with the rifle.
it doesn't seem to be getting the lesson though, as I've found it tends to miss shots more and more frequently and sometimes it doesn't even seem to focus any more, almost like it's been damaged somehow

It's a very nice lens optically. Sharp from wide open. Contrasty. Good colors.
But I, personally, don't care much for the field of view. When you want a "wide" it's not wide. It's not a normal lens, either, so it's not good for group portraits due to wide-angle distortions - without being a wide. And it's not good for tighter one-to-three person portraits because you have to move into peoples' personal space to get that shot, making them uncomfortable.
Offering you a different perspective on the lens. It's not for everyone.
My 35L is a favourite lens for shooting people, especially at indoor events. Of course, that's not my most frequent activity, and so it's not on a camera all that often.
