Some of my fellow gear-heads may be interested, although the squeamish among you might want to avoid this. But I had the opportunity to open up a 5D III part-way today. It's really well engineered.
I didn't see any actual weather sealing, rubber strip type things around the input-output jacks like a 1Dtype body has. But I'm really impressed with how well it's put together. I certainly think the top assembly is near watertight so I wouldn't be paranoid about a bit of mist getting on mine.

the digic 5+ does look big, i wonder if a second can bit fit in this size body, maybe extend the board more and have it overlap the board to the right?? maybe 2 digic 5+ would need 1 series battery to drive? (just thinking about a 38MP version later in the year or early next year and 6fps ability at FF)
We had the head canon repair tech come to work at Xmas and doa complete tear down of a 40D and then rebuild. It was interesting how much the cameras innards had changed even from 30D to 40D and of ocurse even more now. They have gotten simpler to service and that in fact a 1D IV is even easier to strip down for them than say a 7D.
