Just picked it up at the London Ontario Store
It was the only one they got in at this store
Got the extended Warranty as well for a extra 400.00
Battery is percolating now....
..........................................................................
I just called them Nikon Canada....
You get 1 year from Nikon and 1 year fron Nikon Canada
2 years in total
............................................................................
1 Year Canadian Warranty...............no stickers on the D800 box
And impatience is probably percolating as well . Imagine how many batteries they could sell if they offered a fresh, fully charged battery at time of purchase
Yes that would have made me get one
I asked him the price (100.00) i can get one on amizon for 65.00
I think they should give them a full charge ready to go
at least till they get all the pre orders done with
I fell like a stooge now
I usually never buy the extended warrenty's for anything
But I felt I should this time as I got one of the very first ones made
I get 1 year with Nikon then 3 Years with Henry's
If the camera goes in for service twice you get a new one
BTW I did pay with my Visa (not gold)
So what do you think should I get my money back if I can
would ask for it back, perhaps,, most electronic issues surface themselves quickly,, now if the warranty covers loss, theft, dropped camera and other issues it may be worth considering,,
A rep at Black's told me they charge $80 to tack a third year on to the warranty of a D800. Such a large discrepancy between that and the $400, but I think the policies are fairly similar.
Is the add on not 3 years AFTER the Nikon one runs out... was happy I had mine for my first D70s.... 3 times same issue... walked out with D80 (add $ to upgrade it to D300 though).
Not sure I'd get the extended again, but if you keep it.. "might" come in handy.

Henry's warranty add 3 years after the 2 years from Nikon Canada's is over for a total of 5 years coverage. It is also transferable, which, IMO increases resale value.
