Great shot! I love the bg- it really makes this shot a beauty! I'm all for celebrating that which is common. I think that even the robin is beautiful. Common birds are common because they are prolific and successful species - I think that's impressive! Just my 2cents!! Great work on this one!

At any rate a wonderful example of a bird we don't often see here on FM...maybe Birdie has a definitive answer...seems she's been searching high and low for this species.

I was thinking scarlet whatever-you-said too. But this one seems a little darker and the feet are all wrong.
It is called the black nemesis . Plenty around this area, but I just can't take a decent shot of one. Great shot !! It is posts like this that keep me trying.
All the other ID's, juvi Snowy, Charred Oriole!, Iridescent Rusty Oriole, we call them very noisy, Chupacabra Bruce, black nemesis, common harbourside, Defrocked Cardinal, Scarlet Pimpernelaviara and finally the butterscotch nuthatch
are more interesting than RWBB. RWBB
I had a great laugh reading this thread. Great capture Henrik and great replies from the FM gallery.
