A super set Karl from second to last... The first is nice, but you rocked the florals. 2 is my pick for the great comp, wonderful colors, and exquisite flower. WOW! I would suggest that you tone down the bright spot upper left though ~ Ron
Very inspiring set, Karl.
I like them all but #10 looks a bit too flashy for me.
#2 is my favorite. Makes me happy just looking at it. Great job.

super nice Karl, I like the colors, forms, and the comps. And the bokeh, great job! My favorite is the kite orchid, very graceful! Would you pm me the lenses you used?
Thanks
Joe
The kit orchids were new to me Joe, they were in small pots on a little bench so I sat one in front of some darker greens and gave some distance, a very cool orchid indeed.
Thanks buddy

Karl, these are just gorgeous. You've done a wonderful job with framing (to get OOF BGs where you could), with your apertures to maximize DOF. Colors are very Canon-like to my eye, i.e., a little on the "clinical" side, but that's not much of a nit, and most of your viewers are's going to "nit" you on it. Orchids are extremely difficult to shoot - yes, the blooms are fantastic, but you always see them indoors and the gardeners aren't thinking of the photographer's challenges. You out-thought them here.
I'm so glad to see you back posting, and I also am thrilled to see in this set how far your skills have developed through the years. There's a reason all the florals are dedicated to you....Show more →
A big thanks my friend for your very supportive and kind words on my efforts.
Clinical in color I guess for me is more accurate though at times I feel like giving some extra juice to a few but would want to present them all that way so they don't look awkward, will have to try that some time to give you a few spiced up ones
My mindset was to get butterflies and I avoided the orchids until after I got the butters! I think it worked in my favor as some better light to add character dropped in on a few!
What kinda pic you got hanging over the fireplace now in your sitting room
Thanks David for the many years of support and friendship
Karl
Okay CT you put up this many you aren't going to get detailed crits
I'll give you the high and low lights but first off I will say the set just plain rocks Karl. My nits are just that nits, just to keep you honest.
