No image here, as I don't have it But please, don't let it stop you from showing your shots with the new camera! Those images will help me, and probably others to stick with Canon!!

Question for those lucky enough to get one. How are you editing the new RAW files? Are the latest updates to Camera Raw able to open them or do you need to install the canon utilities or DDP?

I'm using the DDP that came with the camera, and exporting to a TIFF.

You can use both. There is ACR 6.7 preview which opens RAW, also DPRreview Canon FF forum has a link somewhere to Chinese site, where you can download latest Canon S/W

Hope the links work i got them from my google+ account. I've converted the CR2 files to DNG files and imported them to lightroom 4 i'm sure they would look a lot better in dpp but didn't have the program installed on my laptop.

Your images aren't showing (here) & it's likely because you need to DELETE the s in https at the beginning of each string. I ran into this some time ago & Fred noticed my problem and pointed out this remedy.

Impressive images, thanks for posting. Good to see something other than lens cap shots.

Here is a sequence of three photos as the bride, groom, wedding party & bar patrons celebrate the Louisville Cardinals Men's basketball team making into the final four.

we were all late getting to the reception, but hey, it made for great photos

TV: 1/100
AV: 2.8
ISO: 6400
shot in raw, converted to DNG, then to JPG via my wedding workflow:

I decided to go light and instead of carrying two bodies (400 2.8 & 70-200 2.8), I grabbed my 5DMKIII and a 100-400L 5.6 IS for the entire meet. The AF on the 5DMKIII nailed about 95% of the shots using AI servo with 9 points active.

The light was very harsh and some of the photos needed quite a bit of fill light in post. The bottom two shots where taken at max ISO 25600 with no noise reduction.

Heavy crop at ISO12800 shot with the 85/1.2 shooting AT 1.2.
AF is brlliant..my experience is pretty much 1 series for the last 5 years but got this for my wife.
AF is solid as a rock and 27 out of 32 pics locked on unlike any camera ive used.
Not sure how but the 1.2 is locking in on the center point beautifully and giving eyes a great render.

No practice first shots with very light noise reduction and light sharpening.

The AF on this thing is very very good...these shots where in a relatively dark room and again for 12800 im impressed.
Also note smug mug adds some grain to the shots because of the jpg size reduction they apply which makes hi ISO stuff somewhat grainier..

I can imagine when my 20D was almost impossible to use at 800..lol.

WIth only a hundred shots on the body this is a far better body than i imagined. The AF is stellar so far and as i said to someone else verging on intuitive in setting almost what you are looking at.
As a devout 1 series owner and user this is one excellent unit and the 1Dx may lose a lot of sales because of the capability in this camera.

Image of 5D mk III with the 100m 2.8 L, very nice details even after up-sized to 45MP equivalent.

Ring shot from today

Could you explain why shooting 800 iso here? because then you would need to shoot too fast?
Can you also explain why the rock seems to be sharp before the ring and then blurred at the level of the ring? or this is just a visual thing?

thank you,
almograve
