I've had my D800 for two weeks and am absolutely loving the IQ.
There is some really excellent work posted in this thread, I've been drooling over it while waiting for mine to arrive.
I love bird photography, but am really excited about returning to some serious landscape and people photography with this body.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!
I too am curious, what lens did you use. I have a manual focus Nikon 16mm that dies the same "star burst". Is that what you used?
Thanks everyone! The first two images used afs14-24 @ 14 & 15mm, respectively. The third shot used the AFD 16mm fisheye. Yes, it was the first time I went in the fall and road burro pass: I wasn't expecting the autumn colours either. Beautiful time of year to go! I would go again in sept/oct!
My images will probably quickly bore you. My camera is always around my neck and I snap pictures as I go though my day. I'm not much for formal photo shoots. So here is another one from a day in the life of Monty
Corey (Hardcore), that's a superb snowy Owl shot...crisp and perfectly framed...one of the best I've seen.
Your night sky shots are also wonderful...it's a shame light pollution has ruined the night sky experience for the vast majority of the worlds population -- people don't know what they're missing.
