nice shot, how do you feel the red of the car compares to the real color of the car?
I have always felt my pro bodies in Nikon had a problem giving me the actual shade.
That's what I've been writing, that I think the 3200 and 6400 seem improved, but the 12800 hasn't seen improvement.. I wonder if this will turn out to be true.

Here we go.
On the way home from the airport, I stopped and took a photo of this oil refinery.
Shot was taken handheld.

from what Ive been reading, they have been coming with xqd cards and card readers to both nps and non nps orders!
I hope mine does too! amazon shows that it should be here by the 20th... *crosses fingers*
Actually...Amazon shows that the D4 should be released on the 20th. Then you have to allow time for shipping. My order shows the expected delivery of 21st.
The real question may be, did folks place their orders before Amazon put up their CYA verbaige which stated they had already sold through their initial allotment of D4 units, and they will fill pre-orders as additional units arrive??
While I would love to bet the farm that I will receive my D4 by the Mar 21st, I keep checking my order status and/or e-mail expecting some communication from Amazon informing me that due to limited supplies I will receive my D4 on Mar 21st 2013.
I received an e-mail today from my small dealer of choice at about 6PM saying my D4 has arrived. The question asking if it is in his procession has not been answered yet, but I am guessing it is? I was first on his list and not NPS. I am hoping that many of us will sooner than later be holding the latest and greatest from Nikon!
Good luck to all of those waiting!
Greg
I just got the answer from my dealer from his home and indeed he has it at the store.
First impression is that the dynamic range is much improved over the D3s. I don't have any A-B shots to compare with as my D3s was shipped away earlier this week. This is just a feeling so take it with a grain of salt.
So, who has time to read the manual up front... So here are a couple of quick things that I learned that weren't obvious to me.
There isn't a button to press to remove he XQD memory card. You should press on it to release it. (Don't just pull which works but probably not great.)
If you want to save the settings to a memory card it doesn't give you an option to select which card. If you want to save the settings on a CF card then you have to remove the XQD card.
The virtual horizon does both pitch and roll now (as compared to D3s which only did roll). The vertical bar in the view finder is the pitch and the focus point display is the roll (horizon).
HDR doesn't work when taking RAW photos, as is stated in the manual.
The shutter sounds "different" than the D3s. Sounds more precise and solid.
The battery comes discharged. Plug it in right away.
The battery charger feels bigger and cheaper than the one that came with the D3s.
The battery is no smaller than the one for the D3s. I thought it would be smaller since it has a lower rating.
If you are interested in video the you will be happy to know that the focus works MUCH better while filming.
Well, that is all for now. I haven't had too much time to play yet!
You're not there yet? Do you want me to pick it up for you
And, I have to work a twelve tomorrow so there it will sit! He just told me they only got one of the four they had ordered. I had called and requested to be first on their list before they had a list, when the specs were just solid rumor. I hope more are to follow soon for all the others excited to get their hands on it.
