This is the finale of the Jamaican Hummingbird series. I finish this with portraying the Red Billed Streamer Tail Hummingbird. Jamaicans call this bird the "Doctor Bird". It acquired this name due to its streamer tails which looked like the long tailed coats of physicians in the 1800's. It is said that if you harm or kill a Doctor Bird, you will have terrible luck for the rest of your life. Maybe I will get some good luck the rest of my life for taking their photos.....

Here are 9 photos of this beautiful bird, one of my very favorites to watch in the wild, from Bald Eagles to Hummingbirds in one day. The very last photo was quite a surprise to me when I got home, because the camera caught it with it's wings extended trying to cool off.
