I just got LR3 and it is so much easier and better to use than PSE. I think it has improved my pp but I would like to hear some comments.
Thanks

I wonder if this young lady has an older sister that plays D3 college ball in the area. The face looks very familiar.
Looks sharp but slightly underexposed. The advice on limb cutting is generally not to do it at the joint (white's left wrist).
You're aware that LR4 is just released, right? Might want to upgrade to that before you get too involved in LR3, there are some changes in the Develop Module.
I am sticking with LR3 for a bit.... it always takes some time to get the bugs fixed and my workflow is too valuable to me to switch and have to figure it out with bugs.
As for your PP it is looking a MILE better. As said earlier still a bit underexposed but the sample shot looks good.
Questions - DO YOU feel that your PP is getting better?
- DO YOU see the changes that Paul A and other offered working?
All very important. I think in anything we do, we need to see improvement ourselves in order for it to "click" and then we see what we were doing "wrong" (maybe not the best word).
Before you get too involved in barking up the wrong tree I want to point out that the key to good post processing is not inside the software anymore than the key to good photography is inside your camera. It all comes from the outside.
Knowing what makes a good photo then using your camera and post processing software to achieve your vision is the key. It can be done with a ten year old camera and ten year old software if you understand the basics, if not, there's no new generation anything that will make good photos for you.
thanks guys...I do feel I am getting better but have not fully grasped many of the concepts....thanks to all of you it is slowly becoming more natural so thanks!! Point well taken Marty thanks. I think I will stick with LR3 for the time being.
op: Adobe has a policy of free upgrade to LR4 for recent purchasers of LR3. Depends on when you purchased your LR3. Read up on this and try your luck with their customer service.
I think you've done a much better job of PP with this image, it is much better than your previous images. My only critique is that it's a little underexposed.
[Oops, posted this without looking at the poster above.] As far as LR3 and LR4 go, since you just bought LR3, het in touch with Adobe customer support. From what I've read they are providing free upgrades to people who bought LR3 right around the time (within a week or two) of LR4 being released. You could still stay with LR3 for the moment if you like, but if they give you this deal you'd get a copy of LR4 and save yourself $79 (upgrade fee), from there you could install it when you wanted.
JFY re: the upgrade, you may want to investigate how long Adobe will honor allowing you the upgrade from your recent purchase...if you can, get it now, but you don't have to install it until you're ready.
i ordered lightroom3 download on Jan.9th and just got off the phone with them and told me no.said i didn't fall under the dates and i asked what the date was and he said he couldn't tell me.
