Just tried Kodak Photodesk for the first time.
Hmm, right off the bat, I had to choose between "Looks".
I don't really like that.
I wanted a flat .tif from a RAW file.
This is to try and evaluate between ACR and Photodesk.
Though, to be honest, if I am not comparing SOOC .tifs, I edit to taste in ACR.
Shrug, I might try it some more.
I guess I need to try DPP as well...

I always open Raw pictures taken with SLR/c with Photodesk, and save them as TIFF files.
And then do a little adjustments in Photoshop.
I really should do the same ... but it just seems to run so slow on my laptop, that I have been using PS only. Also, I tried to install it on my faster PC, but no luck there, since it is on a 64 bit OS. I figure I'll need to dual boot a 32 bit OS.
Do you have any tips / pointers for running Photodesk ... I've not used it in a year or so ... but do recall it rendering the files well. My impatience just got the better of me as I've gotten away from using it. I've also not gone the TIFF route ... so I'm a bit challenged at understanding how that comes into play.

Photodesk is the best and blessing for Kodak DSLR....
The reason I save as TIFF file is to save as much information as possible...
I recently gave my SLR/c to my friend in Korea.... and I really miss it....
I only wish you could save a linear, or neutral TIFF from Photodesk.
I only see that you are FORCED to chose between the choices of "Looks".
I will have to "beat on it" some more.
