Thank you....
If one uses Kodak DSLR, dust on sensor is almost given....

I wish I knew how to clean it myself, but I'm too scared to do it...
Cleaning by PP is another option, which I haven't learned yet...

Isn't there actually some layer over the actual sensor surface? So it's not like you're rubbing on the micro-lenses or anything. Cleaning is easy and straight-forward in my experience. Sure, there's a bunch of companies interested in selling lots of crap that would have us think otherwise but I don't think it's the case. Just get some cheap-azz swabs and clean it under a bright light. A blower and magnification might help too. Seriously I don't think it's a big deal... Just do it.

CF card of choice?
I'm reading the SLR/C is picky on what card it likes?
I also see it has dual card capacity, SD & CF.

Usually 2gb CF card works...
However, I'm using a 8GB card without any problem...
I can't recall the brand name... I'll double check when I get back home...

As far as cleaning the sensor, I heard that Kodak camera is pretty difficult to clean ... Unless it is given to a specialist....

The other link in the thread looks like a drastic method to me.

Wow, this thing is light!
I'm not seeing a way to display shutter count.
Searching through the manual doesn't to tell it either.
Anyone know offhand?

Cool, I have a SanDisk 4GB card that is working, AND, PS-CS6 can read the RAW file, cool.
Might have a go with the Kodak software, maybe not.
Have to read the manual, and go play, and of course post something worthy...

Congrats ... yes, it is nice & lightweight. Despite the strange appearance, it has a nice ergo to it as well.

I have tried some newer SD cards that it doesn't play nice with ... but no real issue with my CF cards that I've noticed, but I haven't bought any of the newer high speed CF's in recent years. I'm using SanDisk 4 & 8's and have an old Lexar 2.

One thing @ software ... it is kinda slow, and it is NOT 64bit compatible, so you might want to consider a dual boot @ 32bit OS if you are running 64bit system. I haven't used mine in a while since I got LR4 and CS6 running on 64 bit win7 pro. I was going to install it the other week and forgot @ 32bit ... so I need to setup dual myself. I used to use the software and feel it does a better job than Adobe, but since the speed of LR4 and CS6 are faster (and I'm on 64bit still), they've been getting the assignment. I have recently installed SSD on my older 32bit laptop ... I need to install it there and see if the SSD makes any difference.

I've got some upcoming work to do for competition ... I may take a stab at revisiting the Kodak software for some of those to be printed if I make it past jury selection. For those, the "slowness" might be a bit more tolerable ...

Maybe spoke too soon on the SanDisk card.
I was getting, cannot complete image write messages yesterday.
It would try for 3 times then complete.
After coping the files from the card to laptop HDD, and then started bridge, bridge complained about the .jpg files.
Shrug, I will turn the .jpg option to minimal.
Is there a way to completely turn off .jpg?
Have to play more.
Especially after just picking up my Contax N 85/1.4, woo!

I have problem with Sandisk as well. Lexar 8GB works fine.

The slot on the SLR/c is MMC not SD card, I think. It didn't recognize my SD card.

More information, thanks!
The more, the better.
I'm using a SanDisk CF card, SanDisk Extreme III 4.0 GB
I may have some older SD cards, have to look, haven't used an SD card in ages...

The manual states:
COMPACTFLASH (CF) card—Solid state or IBM MicroDrive
COMPACTFLASH+ Type II card
SECURE DIGITAL (SD) card—Memory card with write-protect lock
MULTIMEDIA (MMC) card—Same size as SD card but no write-protect
lock

Good luck to us all!
*8^)

MUCH faster writes when I turn jpg OFF and RAW only, yey!
Also, using the Kodak SLR/C and Contax N 85/1.4 combo, focus speed seems okay for me.
Have to perform focus accuracy tests next.

Same, same, no PP, and swirly:
Think the focus is off as well, don't remember what point I used...

So, the N85/1.4 swirls?
No PP.
This wasn't at MFD either...

Snapping shots in the yard, handheld, no PP other than a big crop, convert to sRGB jpg, and resized.
The noise is not bad @ 160 with the big crop.
