p.2 #2 · why do people post ads and not answer pms or reply to posts?
Sometimes things just take a weird turn. A seller here had an item I was interested in. so I shot him a reasonable offer which he politely declined. A few days later, he PMd me saying that he may have overlooked / not received some PMs and that if I was interested in his item to make him an offer.
So I did. Twice. No response. Further, my Outbox revealed he had deleted my PMs.
He ended up selling to someone else several days later. It probably shouldn't have p'd me off, but it did.
Episode 2: Another seller prevented me from buying from him by saying he didn't want to sign up for Google Checkout (my preferred payment method). Then, in another thread, he talked about his experiences in signing up for Google Checkout -- months prior to our non-transaction.

Aha! Thanks Dan. I've always had it on but somehow it got turned off. Fred was considering eliminating email contact due to recent scammer problems and I just thought he had done it.

Mine is off also how did you turn it back on? I prefer PM's but it's always nice to have this option when a person wants to communicate via email

Well,since you brought it up.
I have noticed of late a certain lack of forum etiquette.
Among them,not answering pm's(sometimes multiple),folks,there's always
a courteous way to respond simply,no thank you, instead of ignoring a pm.
Also posting feedback is part of FM,again, ignoring requests to post feedback.
Now I am not saying it's the majority,it's a minority,but a growing minority.
My 2 cents...
Amen...and it is getting worse! Especially on B&S with no feedback after sale and items not marked "Sold" or otherwise. Then they don't even respond to inquiry as to status of item.
I have asked Fred to address this problem with ads not marked but nothing has been addressed to date.

Dan:
Maybe we ask Fred to set up ,let's call it a "B&S etiquette thread sticky",I think it might be a good guide to refer too.Guidelines never hurt anyone but help keep order.:-)
