Lovely picture Fred !!

I did borrow a 24 TS-E for a few days but I just wasn't able to get a decent result.
Understanding the "Scheimpflug" principle is one thing, applying it is even more a challenge :-).
I wonder, in this case, what's the position ( angle and distance) of the camera (plane) in according to the rock and what's the "workflow" to follow ?
As far as I understand one has to compose first and next focus and start tilting and adjust focus.
But I get stuck with a lot of questions ...
While composing, what are the "limitations" regarding film plane ? In this case, should you tilt the camera upwards/downwards or keep it at least perpendicular ( in relation to the ground surface) in order to obtain the best DOF ? In other words, are there certain "rules"/limitations or can you just make your composition ?
Can one shift the lens during composing and then start the tilting/focusing ?
Should one focus first on the rock or the background ?
I did find myselve "tilting and tilting ..." without getting decent results but only reaching the lens tilting "limit" :-).
Unfortunately the majority of "tutorials" regarding tilt/shift discuss miniature photography.
