Just found out today I was the Grand Prize Winner of the Burrard-Lucas Photography Nature Contest for 2011. You can check it out here..

I did post this here on FM a while back and always thought it was something special. So my new Canon 60D is on the way! As you can imagine I'm pretty happy about this!

Nice to see that one get such a high level of recognition - it was a really nice image that went over the top for me with the deer wandering across the scene.

Well deserved!

The deer look like little toys. They give great perspective on the hills and make this a one-of-a-kind photograph.

Congratulations! I remember this shot when you first posted it and thought it was fantastic, so I'm not surprised the judges thought so too. The key is you were already prepared for a great landscape shot when the deer appeared, making it into something ultra special.
