I particularly like the hand on the bride’s back (from mshi) and 183 (from phillipj). Brad, the personalities of your family members leap out of the pictures.
The 35mm f/1.8G is the default lens on my D5100, while zooms languish in the closet. When not held back by the button-pusher, the 35mm has the versatility for portraits

Thank you Bruce Sawle and Bruce_T for your comments.
Which one of the 35mm you really like better? Which one you use the most? Great stuff you got there.
About once a year I decide to sell this lens, and then I use it. (Nikkor 35-70mm f2.8 macro) I had one of these plastered on an AP NC2000 for years and years. It really is a great lens - I found this minty copy on ebay about 5-6 years ago...even does macro. Here it is at 35mm...and wide open.
Not an artistic shot, but some folks complain that they'll have to buy all new lenses with the D800 to take advantage of the sensor's resolution. I dunno... since the $230 35/1.8G DX lens can do this, I'm pretty happy.
