As the water shoots out at super-heated temperatures, a lot of it turns to steam until it dissipates into the air. If a person gets lucky with the wind- and the sky is good (I like blue as a background for geysers)- you have (as Fred mentions) your own clouds.
Except for Old Faithful, the big secret is to be there when it goes blooey!  . So bring a folding chair and a book for all the waiting you may have to do.
