Finally, snow is coming. Any one? I had other destinations for the next few days, but all that were cancelled because snow is coming to Yosemite! Let's celebrate, photographers!
Honestly, the forecast doesn't call for much, and the NWS only calls for a chance of rain or snow in Yosemite Valley, with the snow level at 4,400 feet (Yosemite Valley is 4,000 feet). I'd be surprised if the valley doesn't get any snow, but I'm guessing it won't be enough to last for more than a couple of days. But it does bode well for Horsetail Fall (because if there's one thing the world needs, it's more images of Horsetail Fall).
tomorrow: 90% snow and it continues for 3 days, on and off. i will be there tomorrow. if it looks right i will stay for 2 days and may come back on week end.
Good luck!!!

Yes. Between November and March it is mandatory to carry chains in the vehicle regardless of actual conditions.
This from the Yosemite web site:
"Is it likely that I will need chains?
If you are visiting from November through March, you should expect chain requirements to be in effect (though it's possible you may not need to use chains), even if you only plan to visit Yosemite Valley and use the shuttle bus. Any time chain controls are in effect, all vehicles must have chains in possession, including four-wheel drive and rental vehicles."
