Went to the Japanese Garden this morning and to my surprise I found the first signs of spring, a blooming cherry tree.

!!! Wow - I did not expect to see something like this at all. This is almost a month ahead of normal.

Really love the 1st! The contrast of lovely flowers against the lines and tones of the bamboo walls is really sweet.

Jonathon, I used a shallow depth of field, didn't want the geometrical pattern of the bamboo fence compete witht he branches on blooms of the cherry tree.

Alan, Roman, yes things are surprisingly early. The first rodies begin to show colors as well. Way too early and the winter is not over yet ...

I saw that in our park, too. Yep, the groundhog's wrong - EARLY SPRING!

I like the first one best with the bamboo fence. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, I have heard reports that stuff is starting to bloom in The Gorge. So last year we had a late spring, and this year we will have crazy wildflower displays on SilverStar mountain in April
