Red Rocks Park near Las Vegas? We debated stopping by that park earlier this last week but weren't sure there was anything to shoot in there. This image certainly says otherwise - I like the contrast between the red skies and the white mist coming from behind the ridge.

Alan, Besides the incredible geology, with the red laced rocks, the weather changes fairly rapidly. Sometimes, the clouds build up along the western mountains and spill over at the low points....
It's usually crowded, but still worth an early morning visit...
OK, I confess, I DO like the shot, but am I really the only one that doesn't like the split ND? It just doesn't look natural, based on where the sun is.....I really like the mist that was captured, and Red Rocks truly is a beautiful place. I just think this is a shot that could look much better via a manual blend in PS vs the use of the grad in the field.
Maybe I'm just out in left field, but that's why they call it an "opinion"
I am with Jo here. The image is excellent and the mist very dramatic but I am not keen on the uneven light on the rocks due to the I assume ND filter. Perhaps you can correct that a bit, it would definitely be worth it!

Jo, your opinion is welcome from any field you wish to speak from. The 3x filter does leave its mark here and my post processing skills aren't yet good enough to correct this, nor do I have another exposure for the shadowed areas I agree manual blending would have beed better for this scene. So, back to dodging..
Thanks for commenting...
Glad you didn't take offense Zeph, I know you're a long-timer on FM and I certainly didn't mean any offense at all. I really like the shot and would love to see it when you have post processing skills that can do this beautiful shot justice! Wouldn't take much to make it really shine.
