I have been wanting to create a cheer routine sequence for some time now and I finally got the chance to do one. I was a bit rushed but it looks ok to me. How about you? The original is around 20,000pixels across.
I like it, also. Only observation is that I wonder what sense you would get if she was in a rest or grounded position at both ends. As I keep looking at it, I get a feeling that it started a hair late and isn't quite finished and I am waiting for her to land. But, I think it is a creative visualization of the exercise. Thanks for posting it.
too wide maybe, implies horizontal distance rather than the excitement of the height of the toss, since they are already cut out - have you tried a much more vertical stack, keeping the toss and catch frames close?
Ben, I do like the sequnce poster, however, I have seen a couple of kick fulls. You may have been limited to space but I feel the very first image should have her a little more tighter. In other words it looks like shes starting her kick almost as she comes out of the basket toss insted of just prior to the apex.
As Dan mentioned using a more verticle crop may allow one more (first shot) if you have it to be placed in there
Most casual observers would hardley notice this but it seems weird when I look at, it just caught my eye thats all. Still nice work.
Thanks for all of the comments. I really wish I had this poster in mind when I was shooting at the event because I did not capture the stunt at its beginning. Also, if you look closely at the end, you will see that the base group is off by one member. The original crops were so tight on the action that I cut off the back of the head of the left side base. I pulled another shot of the same flyer landing in another stunt. I meant for it to be art so a little creative license was ok. I will look for a better toss with this same group because it really is missing the launch of this pint size powerhouse.
I also meant for the image to be wide. The final formatting will be 10x30. My feeling was to imply a longer time frame. Words will be in the final product. This exercise has me looking back through other sequences I have for possible candidates. I really got a "kick" out of doing this one.
