This is really a cool staging and the deep shadows interrupted but small glints of light encircling the stage add an elegant twinkle. Of course the drama in in along the periphery of the stage, beautifully lit and captured well by you.
I love it, J.R.
Are all of these things going on at the same time, or have you done some unusual time-elapse thingy? There seems to be several ways to interpret the image, which is pretty nifty.

Thanks Charlie! This was in real time. I took several frames and this one captured the performers in a way I liked. You've given me the idea of taking all those shots and trying a composite.
Just to add to my previous comments and those of others:
I think this is an exceptional image. Great lighting. Great drama. Unusual subject.
If a larger size holds up, I'd be printing, framing, promoting this one to shows/galleries.

Thanks very much Scott. I'm happy with it too. I shot another one of these types of shots a few years ago and I was excited to try it again. The first one was really stark with lots of negative space, so compared to my first try this makes me much happier. This was shot with my 35L and unfortunetly this is a pretty severe crop.
