Many thanks to the big ant for leaving the defensive position and posing near the scale insect asking for honeydew. The scale insect give sweet liquid to the ant in exchange for protection.

This is exactly the same scale insect of yesterday, is possible to use it as "scale" to compare the size of ants

.

The big ant wasn't in the place in the morning and there were a group of small ants.

@ Cristian,

The frames with less magnification have about 10mm, so this ant should measure a little more than 7mm
